General Information

Nintedanib Esylate, a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor TKI, is the result of a new study for the treatment of IPF.

It targets platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGF α and β), fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFR1-3), and vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR1-3), and binds competitively to the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding sites of these receptors, blocking the signaling pathways of the fibroblast process and inhibiting the proliferation, metastasis, and transformation of fibroblasts, thereby slowing the progression of IPF disease.
